We are looking for quality candidates that have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree for teaching positions and previous work experience in a related field. Director of Advancement

Dayton Christian School is currently conducting a search for the Director of Advancement who will develop and foster strong relationships with mission-engaged donors to generate renewable annual gift income. This key role will interact with alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends of Dayton Christian for the purpose of furthering the important mission of preparing students for the future. In addition, the Director of Advancement will be responsible for fundraising goals for special projects and capital campaigns. This position will report to the Head of School.

Qualified candidate should possess a bachelor degree in business, communications or related field; a minimum of three years’ experience in fundraising; strong interpersonal and communication skills; and a strong understanding of the advancement enterprise – particularly within an academic setting.

Preschool Teacher

Our growing preschool is looking for a full-time teacher who is highly energetic and enthusiastic to prepare three- and four-year-old students for kindergarten. Teachers will partner with parents in helping their children to develop spiritually, socially, emotionally, and educationally. All candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field and have 2+ years’ experience working with children in a classroom setting.

Kindergarten Teacher

Seeking a fun, energetic teacher with a genuine love for kids. The kindergarten teacher will seek to accomplish the school’s mission of education through Biblically-based instruction, assessments, and planning. Through collaboration with co-workers and administrations, the teacher will create a classroom that inspires and challenges the students while creating an environment of love and caring. 

First Grade Teacher

Seeking a fun, energetic teacher with a genuine love for kids. The first grade teacher will seek to accomplish the school’s mission of education through Biblically-based instruction, assessments, and planning. Through collaboration with co-workers and administrations the teacher will create a classroom that inspires and challenges the students while creating an environment of love and caring. 

K-8 Intervention Specialist

Seeking an Ohio Department of Education licensed Intervention Specialist (K-12) or Special Education Teacher to provide intervention, instruction, and services for elementary students who are not mastering grade level skills from first instruction through the Response to Intervention model, as well as work with students who have been identified with special needs under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Services may be carried out through one-on-one intervention, small group and/or inclusion classes. Candidates must be able to maintain data and progress records based on RTI interventions and IEP goals and objectives, as well as complete weekly service records that are required for those students enrolled in the Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship (JPSN) program under the JPSN guidelines/law.  Candidates must be able to modify the general education curriculum to meet the needs of students receiving services through an IEP in all core subjects and Bible. Candidates must also be able to provide academic services for those students on 504 Accommodation Plans. Special Education faculty meet the needs of students with spiritual maturity and sensitivity to each individual with the ultimate goal of enabling the student to reach his/her fullest academic, physical, emotional, psychological, and behavioral potential. Position includes a robust benefit package including tuition discount for dependent children.

Groundskeeper / Maintenance Technician

Dayton Christian is looking for a Grounds Keeping / Maintenance Technician. The ideal candidate is able to create landscape and outdoor areas and maintain them as well by mowing & edging, aeration, planting, seeding, trimming, fertilizing and watering. The technician will provide maintenance to irrigation and sprinklers. The position also includes snow removal in the winter for sidewalks and parking lot and drives. In addition, light maintenance includes servicing lawn equipment, landscaping tools or schedule for outside services. Other work to include grounds work and maintenance for athletic fields as well as clearing away trash and garden debris from the grounds. A certain level of physical fitness is required due to the laborious nature of the work that also includes use of power tools and upkeep on various equipment. Position also will require light maintenance which includes helping set up for events and miscellaneous painting.

Preschool Summer Camp Counselors

We’re looking for several individuals who can carry on the strong tradition of our preschool summer camp program known as Mini Camp. We are in search of highly motivated, energetic people to lead and assist children ages 3-8 years old. Individuals will work to instill, inspire, and equip children with godly characteristics. Our 12-week Mini Camp will begin May 26 and run through August 14. Counselors will be responsible for creating daily activities according to the weekly themes. Candidates must be 18 years of age and be able to commit to 35 hours a week for the 12-week program. This is a seasonal, hourly position.

Part-time positions currently available: 

Preschool Extended Learning Teacher  (10-month position)

Looking for a positive, enthusiastic individual to inspire a love for learning. This individual will be responsible for offering learning activities to preschool age children to participate in while they are waiting to be picked up after school.  May also be asked to offer assistance to preschool teachers prior to students’ arrival for Extended Learning. Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma. This is a 20-hour a week, 10-month position and is eligible for a tuition discount. 

Educational Aide (10-month position)

Dayton Christian is looking for an Educational Aide who is willing to work with an individual and/or small groups of students under the supervision of a certificated teacher in the supervision and instruction of special needs students in the general education classroom. The Educational Aide would assist the student(s) by modeling the necessary skills to perform assignments; follow educational and specific behavioral plans; and model appropriate behaviors and interactions with students and staff. The aide would assist the student(s) by adapting classroom materials and activities based on a student’s particular needs. A valid Ohio Educational Aide Certification is required, and a bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Substitute Teacher 

We are looking for dedicated Christians to serve as substitute teachers in grades pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. We provide a Biblically-based curriculum and environment to instill the love of Christ and God’s Word. Searching for candidates with flexibility in substituting for various grade levels and subjects. Must have a bachelor’s degree and be willing to obtain a non-tax certificate.

If a volunteer will be in a role that is responsible for the care, custody, or control of a student(s) when a DCS employee is not present in the room, the volunteer needs to submit to a fingerprint background check and pass prior to volunteering in that capacity. Please see an HR representative to help assist in the fingerprint check.
