We are looking for quality candidates that have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree for teaching positions and previous work experience in a related field. Chief Financial Officer 

The successful CFO candidate will be experienced in providing oversight of resources, budget, and capital initiatives. Candidate will be able to collaborate with other leaders to provide key financial leadership. It will be important to be able to develop a profitability model to find ways to resource new projects and to provide counsel to our Board of Trustees on its commitment to fiduciary responsibilities.

The CFO will be a financial leader with broad finance experience, preferably within a nonprofit with multiple funding sources including government (federal and state) funds. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree and/or a CPA certification is preferred. A complete position description may be obtained by contacting Human Resources. The successful candidate will assume responsibilities June 1, 2021. Qualified candidates should submit a resume and complete an online application found in the application documents section below. 

Admissions Coordinator

The Admissions Coordinator works to reach the school’s enrollment targets by ensuring efficient application, enrollment, and on-boarding processes within the Admissions Office. This is a full-time (32 hours per week), 12-month position that reports to the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid.  Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required due to admission events.   

Duties include facilitating communication with prospective families through calls and emails, entering accurate data for all inquiries, managing the enrollment application process, coordinating admissions testing, scheduling and conducting tours for prospective families, assisting with admission events, serving as a liaison for the EdChoice program and supporting the day-to-day operations.  A complete position description can be obtained by contacting Human Resources.

The qualified applicant should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office products, experience in managing projects and workflow, a collaborative mindset, and critical thinking skills.  A bachelor’s degree and previous experience in admissions or a related field is strongly preferred

Payroll and Benefits Coordinator

Dayton Christian has a need for a highly organized and detail-oriented person to oversee the payroll process as well as administer all employee benefit programs.   This is a full-time (40 hours per week), twelve-month, non-exempt position that reports to the Chief Operations Officer. 

Responsibilities of the position include functioning as the key contact for all candidates during the application process, meeting with all new employees to introduce benefit programs and enrolling employees in the programs, obtaining all employment-related information for payroll and tax purposes,  overseeing semi-monthly payroll processing, providing employee data to benefit broker and carriers as needed,  maintaining employee files, compiling payroll information for yearly audit, performing all employment background checks, and other duties as required.  

Qualifications for the position include strong customer service focus, prior experience with payroll processing and/or benefits coordination, the ability to balance many time-sensitive demands, and a willingness to educate employees on employment-related requirements.   

Physical and mental requirements include standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time,  moving through the campus buildings unassisted, occasional lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, reaching, using a keyboard and monitor, and communicating verbally and in writing. 

K-12 Intervention Specialist

Seeking an Ohio Department of Education licensed Intervention Specialist (K-12) or Special Education Teacher to provide intervention, instruction, and services for upper elementary and middle school students who are not mastering grade-level skills from first instruction through the Response to Intervention model, as well as work with students who have been identified with special needs under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Services may be carried out through one-on-one intervention, small group and/or inclusion classes. Candidates must be able to maintain data and progress records based on RTI interventions and IEP goals and objectives, as well as complete weekly service records that are required for those students enrolled in the Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship (JPSN) program under the JPSN guidelines/law. Candidates must be able to modify the general education curriculum to meet the needs of students receiving services through an IEP in all core subjects and Bible. Candidates must also be able to provide academic services for those students on 504 Accommodation Plans. Special Education faculty meet the needs of students with spiritual maturity and sensitivity to each individual with the ultimate goal of enabling the student to reach his/her fullest academic, physical, emotional, psychological, and behavioral potential. Position includes a robust benefit package including tuition discount for dependent children.

Pre-Kindergarten Teacher (Multiple positions available)

Our growing preschool is looking for a full-time teacher who is highly energetic and enthusiastic who will build into the lives of students. The anticipated start date is August, 2021. The teacher will partner with parents in helping their children to develop spiritually, socially, emotionally, and educationally. All candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood education or a related field and have 2+ years’ experience working with children in a classroom setting.

Responsibilities include:

  • The ability to build and maintain rapport with children and their parents.
  • Creating lesson plans that are fun, educational, and individualized as needed.
  • Providing a cooperative learning environment that is balanced with love and discipline.
  • Collaboration and planning with the Pre-School Director and other teachers in the program.

Kindergarten Teacher

The kindergarten teacher will foster a safe and curious learning environment for all students. Duties include designing a lesson plan on a weekly basis, teaching alphabetic and numeric state standards, encouraging students to achieve excellence in writing, and organizing learning materials and resources. Candidate will also need to consistently communicate with parents and guardians regarding their child’s holistic progress throughout the school year. Candidate must possess the strong ability to integrate a Christian faith into daily teaching. Qualifications for the position include a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in early childhood education. Applicant must possess a current educator’s license with the state of Ohio or obtain one prior to the beginning of the school year. Strong communication and organizational skills are required. Excellent knowledge of child development and latest education theories and practices are necessary.

First Grade Teacher

The first grade teacher will foster a safe and curious learning environment for all students. Fourth Grade Teacher

Custodian/Day Porter

DC is searching for a Custodian/Day Porter to maintain the school cafeteria, main lobby and common areas of our building. The tasks will be performed during working school hours and include cleaning lunch tables, mopping floors, wiping down windows, dusting fixtures, and other similar cleaning duties throughout the day.  This position will also include summer project work.  Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED certificate, knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures, and experience with using cleaning equipment and cleaning solutions.  Janitorial or maintenance experience preferred.  

This is a full-time, twelve-month position that reports to the Coordinator for Custodial and Facilities Services.

Part-time positions currently available: 

AP Calculus / Pre-Calculus Teacher

This position is responsible to teach two to three classes of advanced math in the high school beginning in the 2021/22 academic year.  Qualified candidate will partner with the math and science department members to develop and implement strategies to inspire and assist student learning across the curriculum.  Candidate will also oversee the preparation and testing readiness of all upper level math students.   

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree (required) in math or related field, Master’s or Ph. D. preferred.  Other qualifications include teaching experience and strong communication skills, including the ability to project verbally in a classroom setting.

Reading Specialist 

Dayton Christian seeks a Reading Specialist to work with individual students and small groups of students on strengthening literacy skills. Qualified candidate will use a diverse set of strategies and methods to provide lessons along with academic support in the classroom. This role will partner with teachers and Intervention Specialist in conducting assessments to determine student reading levels, create reading lesson plans to match student needs, and help develop at-home strategies. A bachelor’s degree is required along with a valid Ohio Reading Specialist certificate. Two years of experience is preferred.

Extended Learning Teacher 

Dayton Christian School seeks a qualified candidate to serve in our growing Extended Learning after-school program. This is a part-time, 20-hour per week position. Schedule is Monday – Friday, 2:00 – 6:00 pm. Candidate is responsible for the safety and well-being of all students that stay on school campus after pick-up. Essential Functions of the position include keeping the students safe, offering learning activities for children to participate in while they are waiting to be picked up, and maintaining an organized classroom environment. Qualifications include a love for children, strong communication skills, and a desire to serve others. A high school diploma is required.

Pre-Kindergarten Aide

Our growing preschool is looking for a Christ follower to share in the care of preschool age children. This position will serve as an aide. Job duties include assisting teacher in daily classroom activities such as leading center activities and working one-on-one wit students. Qualified candidate must enjoy working with children and staff in creating activities to support a joyful and safe environment.

Substitute Teacher 

We are looking for dedicated Christians to serve as substitute teachers in grades pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. We provide a Biblically-based curriculum and environment to instill the love of Christ and God’s Word. Searching for candidates with flexibility in substituting for various grade levels and subjects. Must have a bachelor’s degree and be willing to obtain a non-tax certificate.

Dayton Christian Coaching Openings:

Head Varsity Football Coach

Dayton Christian School (Miamisburg, Div. 6) is seeking a head varsity football coach for the 2021 season. Previous varsity head coaching experience is preferred, but not required. Seeking individuals with strong character and a Christian testimony who can bring great knowledge, energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for developing gritty student-athletes who make an impact on the football field and in their community. Candidates must have the ability to build a competitive football program of excellence (Grades 7-12) and work collaboratively with coaches, parents, donors, administrators, and community members.
