We are looking for quality candidates that have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree for teaching positions and previous work experience in a related field. Dayton Christian School is seeking a Middle School Principal

Middle School Principal

Dayton Christian School is seeking a Middle School Principal. The Middle School Principal serves as the head administrator and instructional leader for Dayton Christian Middle School (Grades 5-8), promoting an effective learning environment. This is a full-time, 12-month position that reports to the Head of School. This individual will be responsible to provide spiritual and academic leadership to faculty and students while cultivating a partnership with DCMS parents and community. Minimum qualifications include the following:

  • Born again believer with an active personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ; a demonstrated commitment to a Christ-centered lifestyle as outlined in the DCS Handbook
  • ·Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Educational Administration preferred
  • Possess ACSI or State Teaching Certificate; Valid Ohio Principal License preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience w/ an additional two years of administrative experience preferred
  • Possess knowledge of Board policies and procedures; teaching methods and techniques; courses of study; curriculum; educational plans; lesson plans and performance evaluations
  • Possess knowledge of secondary school structure requirements (5-8), including graduation requirements, college preparatory course needs, and academic standards
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate Learning Management Systems, computer software programs
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience navigating difficult conversations with a goal to resolve conflicts

Full-time positions currently available: 

Assistant Elementary Principal

Dayton Christian School is seeking to hire an Assistant Elementary Principal. This is a full-time 12-month position that reports to the Elementary Principal. The individual will be responsible to serve as a secondary lead for the elementary department. The incumbent will serve as the academic collaborator for the elementary school to aid identifying curriculum needs, reviewing assessment data, and identifying technological gaps for student and teachers, and planning for professional development needs. This position will actively assess student discipline and identify opportunities to encourage students as they navigate DCES expectations.

Qualifications for the position include a bachelor’s degree. Applicant must possess a current educator’s license with the State of Ohio or obtain one prior to the beginning of the school year. Applicant must have a minimum of three years of teaching experience and possess knowledge of primary school structure requirements (K-5) including child development needs and best practices. Strong communication and organizational skills are required.

High School Bible Teacher

Dayton Christian School is seeking to hire a High School Bible Teacher to lead students in the study of the Bible and in the application of scripture to their daily life. This is a full-time, 10-month position that reports to the High School Principal. High School Science Teacher

Dayton Christian School is seeking to hire a passionate High School Science Teacher. This is a full time 10-month position that reports to the High School Principal. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and breadth of knowledge in all areas of science and possess a passion to nurture the critical thinking capacities of students.

Qualifications for the position include a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in science, chemistry, or related field. Applicant must possess a current educator’s license with the state of Ohio or obtain one prior to the beginning of the school year. Strong communication and organizational skills are required. Excellent knowledge of student development and the integration of varied learning platforms.

STEM Teacher (Multi-grade Needs)

Dayton Christian School is seeking to hire a STEM Teacher. This is a full-time 10-month position that reports to the principal. The individual will be responsible to provide classes that integrate Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) through project-based and hands-on learning activities. The ideal candidate will be able to create an environment of curiosity, creativity, and innovation within the classroom.

Qualifications for the position include a bachelor’s degree. Applicant must possess a current educator’s license with the State of Ohio or obtain one prior to the beginning of the school year. Applicant should possess knowledge of primary and secondary school structure requirements including student development needs and best practices. Educational Aide

Dayton Christian School is seeking to hire an Educational Aide to work with students under the supervision of a certificated teacher. This is a full-time, 10-month position that reports to the Director of Special Education. The individual is responsible to model the necessary skills the student needs to meet the assignment requirements in support of the student’s educational and behavioral plans. The aide would be expected to adapt classroom materials and activities based upon each student need. Thus, the aide should be prepared to implement a variety of student support options.

Qualifications for the position include possession of a valid Ohio Educational Aide Certificate and experience providing specific skill-based competencies as required by the student plan.

Second Grade Teacher

Dayton Christian Elementary anticipates an opening for a second grade teacher for the 2022/2023 school year. This individual will foster a safe and curious learning environment for all students. Duties include designing weekly lesson plans, teaching alphabetic and numeric state standards, encouraging students to achieve excellence in writing, and organizing learning materials and resources. Candidate will also need to consistently communicate with parents and guardians regarding their child’s holistic progress throughout the school year. Candidate must possess the strong ability to integrate a Christian faith into daily teaching.

Preschool Aide

Dayton Christian School Preschool program is seeking a full-time Preschool Aide to share in the care of students. This is 10-month position that typically serves August – May. A DCS Preschool Aide is expected to partner with the Preschool Teacher to support classroom needs and aide in the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional development of preschool students. Candidates must have experience working with children. Responsibilities include assisting the Preschool Teacher in daily classroom activities, working one on one with students as assigned, leading center activities as instructed.

Preschool Teacher

Dayton Christian School Preschool program is seeking a full-time teacher who is highly energetic, enthusiastic and ready to build into the lives of students. The anticipated start date for this position is August 2022. A DCS Preschool Teacher is expected to partner with parents in helping their children develop spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally. All candidates must hold a minimum associate degree in Early Childhood education or a related field and have 2+ years’ experience working with children in a classroom setting. Candidate must have ability to build and maintain rapport with children and their parents; to create and maintain lesson plans that are fun, educational, and individualized as needed; to provide cooperative learning environment that is balanced with love and discipline; to collaborate and plan with the Preschool Director and other teachers within the program.

Spanish Teacher

Dayton Christian School is seeking to hire a dynamic Spanish Teacher to teach middle and high school Spanish classes. This would be a 10-month position, with some flexibility for a full- or part-time class load. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to collaborate with other DCS Spanish teachers, possess a strong background in the Spanish language and culture, and have a robust ability to emphasize spoken language in the classroom, while simultaneously emphasizing the instruction in the grammatical structure of the language.

Custodian/Day Porter

Dayton Christian School is seeking to hire a Custodian/Day Porter. This is a full-time, 12-month position. The Day Porter will maintain the lobby and common areas of our building. The tasks will be performed during working school hours and include mopping floors, wiping down windows, dusting fixtures, making sure restrooms stay clean, cleaning the cafeteria after lunch and other similar cleaning duties. The Day Porter position requires the candidate to be able to clearly and effectively communicate with school staff to include following directions and responding appropriately to radio communications for various circumstances.

Qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or GED certificate. The applicant must have knowledge of standard cleaning methods and experience using standard cleaning equipment. Janitorial or maintenance experience is preferred. A self-motivated person who can work with minimal supervision with strong attention to detail is required. A valid driver’s license is also required.

Maintenance Technician

Dayton Christian School is seeking to hire a Maintenance Technician to support the operational needs of Dayton Christian School and facilities. This would be a full time 12-month position that reports to the Executive Director of Facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a background in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and related skills along with familiarity with groundskeeping and custodial equipment. Responsibilities will extend to the Miamisburg campus and the Ron P. Athletic Stadium.

Qualifications for the position include a strong background in commercial, electrical and/or plumbing responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have multi-year experience and/or carry a license in one or more trades. The individual must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose faulty equipment and exhibit a strong expertise in the use of tools used in electrical and plumbing trades.

Elementary Music Teacher (Grades K-1)

Dayton Christian Elementary is seeking a part-time music teacher to serve in Grades K-1 for the 2022/2023 school year. This individual will foster a love for music within students. Duties include designing weekly lesson plans and encouraging students to glorify God with their voices. Candidate will need to consistently communicate with parents and guardians regarding their child’s holistic progress throughout the school year. Candidate must possess the strong ability to integrate a Christian faith into daily teaching.

Qualifications for the position include a bachelor’s degree, preferably in music. Applicant must possess a current educator’s license with the State of Ohio or an ability to obtain appropriate licensure prior to the beginning of the school year. Strong communication and organizational skills are required. Excellent knowledge of child development and latest education theories and practices are necessary.

Athletic Site Supervisor

Dayton Christian School is looking for an Athletic Site Supervisor to serve as the onsite supervisor for home and away athletic events. As the host for athletic events, this individual reports to the Athletic Director and is responsible for the needs and safety of the home team, visiting team, officials, media, and spectators, ensuring athletic facility set-up safety and readiness and representation for DC Athletic events. This position works nights and weekends as assigned.

Percussion Instructor/Band Assistant (Grades 7-12)

The incumbent will serve as the lead for color guard by developing an exciting program to support the extra-curricular interest of students. Qualifications for the position include former experience with a color guard program and a strong academic musical background. Applicants must possess appropriate licensure or obtain one prior to the beginning of the school year.

Audio Visual Tech Coordinator

Dayton Christian School is seeking to hire an AV Tech Coordinator for the 2022/2023 school year. This is a part-time stipend role that reports to the principals. This position will serve as the primary onsite coordinator for all audio-visual needs to support chapel programming during the school day. The incumbent will be responsible to develop appropriate protocols to train other DC-approved staff in the proper use of equipment for DC events that take place after hours. Qualifications for the position include demonstrated experience serving in a similar capacity for an organization including an understanding of the proper use and installation of sound equipment.

Substitute Teacher 

We are looking for dedicated Christians to serve as substitute teachers in grades pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. We provide a Biblically-based curriculum and environment to instill the love of Christ and God’s Word. Searching for candidates with flexibility in substituting for various grade levels and subjects. Must have a bachelor’s degree and be willing to obtain a non-tax certificate.

Front Desk Receptionist (Summer Position)

Dayton Christian School is seeking to hire a Front Desk Receptionist. This is a part time, summer position that reports to the Chief Enrollment Management & Marketing Officer. The individual will be responsible to serve as the frontline contact for all incoming phone calls and visitors during the summer months. This position requires an organized, friendly, and confident person to ensure that all visitors feel welcome and that all protocol created for visits is followed.

Qualifications for the position include an eagerness to serve others, strong customer service skills, and experience with the use of computers. Applicant must be willing to go above and beyond to meet the needs of the customer while following office protocols.

Percussion Instructor/Band Assistant (Grades 7-12)

If a volunteer will be in a role that is responsible for the care, custody, or control of a student(s) when a DCS employee is not present in the room, the volunteer needs to submit to a fingerprint background check and pass prior to volunteering in that capacity. Please see an HR representative to help assist in the fingerprint check.
