Special Education

We believe that God has fearfully and wonderfully made each of us as unique individuals. Our mission is to compassionately identify the needs of students and partner with parents to offer and implement solutions so each student can grow to his or her highest potential to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ until He returns. To this end, Dayton Christian School offers academic intervention and pullout services for students with mild to moderate learning disabilities.

DCS has a licensed school psychologist who evaluates referrals to the Special Education Office. When needed, an Individualized Services Plan (I.S.P.) is written based on all test results (i.e. processing aptitude, achievement, and testing).

Students may be assessed for:

  • Learning style
  • Cognitive ability
  • Present level of academic performance
  • Advanced learners
  • ADD/ADHD screening
  • Intervention or fundamental class placement

Please contact our office at 291-7265 for fee information and to schedule an appointment. Please bring any medical records, previous educational psychological evaluations and previous I.E.P.s that you may have. In addition, the Special Education office can arrange a time for you to observe during the school day.
