Fine Arts

Part of our mission is to inspire students to approach scholarship, athletics, fine arts and service as an act of worship. Developing a student’s talent in the fine arts is as important as nurturing their performance in the classroom or on the athletic field. We believe very strongly that God gifts our students with various talents and that those talents should be developed, not only for the student’s benefit, but for the glory of God.

The Dayton Christian Fine Arts Department offers students numerous opportunities to develop their gifts in the fine arts. Beginning in preschool, students have instruction in music from a certified teacher twice a week, art instruction once a week, and several annual music presentations.

In middle school, students can begin to begin to specialize in band, choir, honor choir, or the visual arts. The middle school also produces a play each fall.

At the high school level, students can explore the fine arts through Resounding Joy (a touring ministry choir), Worship Team, (a band that leads chapel music for middle school and high school), or through Concert Choir, the DCHS Band, the DCHS Pep Band, or numerous visual arts courses.
