The Joseph Relief Fund

The Joseph Relief Fund has been established to help Dayton Christian families whose finances have been negatively affected as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. The fund’s name is in reference to Genesis chapters 40-45 where God directs Joseph to reserve a portion of Egypt’s bounty to prepare and provide for his people during a season of severe famine.

While drastically different in nature, the COVID-19 crisis has also placed a hardship upon many of the families within our community. We are committed to walking alongside our families and doing what we can to help keep students within the community they love. Now more than ever, we need each other.

This fund is separate from DC’s traditional tuition assistance program in regards to its deadline, how it will be allocated and who will be eligible. All families who have been negatively impacted by the crisis are encouraged to apply.

The following are details regarding the application process:

When the applications are open

We will begin accepting applications on May 1, 2020 through July 1*. Award notifications will be sent out once every two weeks until July 15 to those whose application is complete, including supporting documents requested by FACTS.

*Due to the uncertain nature of the crisis, we will be accepting applications after July 1 on a case-by-case basis.

How to start the application process

To start an application, please log into your FACTS billing account and click on “tuition assistance” tab. Fill out a tuition assistance application for the 20-21 school year and upload supporting documents listed by FACTS. In the comment section of the application, please provide details of how COVID-19 affected your family’s income and employment. Also, make sure to list your 2019 anticipated Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) in a corresponding section of the application.

When awards will be given

All initial awards will be given for the first semester of the 20-21 school year. We will re-evaluate each family’s financial situation in December of 2020 and determine eligibility and award amounts for the second semester.
