Mohn’s Eagle Scout Project Benefits DC

Senior Jacob Mohn has completed his Eagle Scout project – a gift to Dayton Christian School and the 2018 boys soccer team in particular.

Thanks to Mohn, two new signs at Ron Pinsenschaum Stadium welcome visitors and recognize the efforts of last year’s soccer team who played in the 2018 Ohio High School Athletic Association’s Division III State Championship. The team ended the season as the state final runner-up.

“I saw a need,” said Mohn. “We didn’t have any signage at the field recognizing the recent success of the boys soccer program.  I felt like we needed to do that.”

Mohn saved the money for the signs and worked with Side Effects, Inc. to develop a design.  The signs were installed in late September with the help of several DC students and members of Mohn’s scout troop.

Now when the DC family and visitors arrive at Ron P, they are greeted by Mohn’s first sign: “Welcome to Ron Pinsenschaum Memorial Stadium, Home of the Dayton Christian Warriors.”  Another sign near the concession stand reads, “Boys Soccer Division III State Runner Up 2018.”

Mohn, who joined the Boy Scouts of America when he was ten, is a member of Troop 2717.  The troop number is a reference to Proverbs 27:17, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”

Thank you, Jacob, for your generosity to Dayton Christian School!
