DCES Supports Life!
Every year, Dayton Christian Elementary School works in conjunction with the the Miami Valley Women’s Center to raise funds and awareness about the sanctity of human life.
The annual Walk for Life was held today, and while the students walked around the perimeter of the DC campus, they held up signs they had made and chanted, “We walk for life.”
Jenny Newman, a representative of the MVWC, congratulated the students on the nearly $600 they raised through their casual day fundraiser, baby bottle boomerang, and the funds that faculty gave to MVWC for winning prizes in the Trunk or Treat contest last fall.
“Six hundred dollars is enough to buy 24 boxes of diapers and three car seats for families who decide to choose life and work with our center,” said Newman.
In addition to the fundraisers and the walk, students made created a wall display of their baby photos and sonograms and cited the verse Jeremiah 1:5: “Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you.”
