Spring Sports Teams Having Successful Seasons
If you’ve been following our sports teams or watching our athletic website and social media, then you know that our spring teams are having a great season so far! They are doing so well, in fact, that Dayton Christian School may bring home the Metro Buckeye Conference All-Sport Trophy for the second year in a row.
The varsity baseball- team is 3-0 in the Metro Buckeye Conference. They have a 9-2 overall record playing a very tough schedule and at one point had won 8 consecutive games. They are currently tied for first in conference standings. In their last conference outing against Yellow Springs, Senior Sam Jackson pitched a no-hitter.
The varsity softball team is 3-0 in the MBC where they are currently in first place. Their overall record is 4-5.
The varsity tennis- team is 2-1 in conference play with a 13-1 overall record. They are having a great season and are currently ranked in second place for conference standings. In their last contest, they aced Waynesville 5-0.
The girls track and field team finished second recently at the Monroe Invitational while the boys finished third. Taylor Ullrich tied the school record in in the high jump this season with a jump of 5.0 feet. Aliisa James was named Most Outstanding Performer at Tecumseh Invitational.
The junior high girls track team won the CHCA Invitational meet. Meela Seaquist won both the 100m and 200m dash at the Waynesville Invitation.
The junior high baseball team has a record of 4-3. They won their first four games, but lost last three games.
“All of our varsity spring sports are doing very well and look to help us win the Metro Buckeye Conference All-Sport Trophy again this year,” said DC Athletic Director Ben Shroyer.
