Blessings Upon Blessings

The sudden emergence of daffodils, hyacinths and tulips is proof that God’s creation is intricate, unique, and serves one ultimate purpose: To bring glory to him.
Our student body is evidence of this as well. The magnificence of God has never shown brighter than through the talent displayed in our recent art show, science fair and our spring musical. Not to mention, the talent that is being displayed on our tennis courts, baseball fields, and track courses.
The last two weekends, our cafetorium was transformed into the village of Anatevka as our students performed Fiddler on the Roof to more than 1,000 people. The five, sold-out performances received standing ovations, and for good reason. My wife and I were incredibly impressed by the performance and, again, in awe of the creativity of our God.
Also this past weekend, students from our campus traveled to Cedarville University for the annual ACSI Fine Arts Festival where artwork and musical performances from students in grades 3rd through 12th competed among other schools.
Twenty one of the 29 pieces of artwork chosen to represent our elementary grades were rated Superior, and four of those took the six available spots as Best of Show in the entire competition. The next time you’re on campus, I encourage you to walk down to the library where these masterpieces are displayed.
Meanwhile, DC’s band and choirs that performed at the festival received a score of Excellent. These included the Dayton Christian Junior High Band and Junior High Choir, the DC Concert Band and Concert Band, Resounding Joy, as well as flute quarter and woodwind trio.
Each of our students have been given a unique talent by their creator. What a privilege it is to watch as faculty and staff strive to challenge, stretch and mature these gifts within our students.
Our goal at DC is to help our students discover their God-given talent. More importantly, we want them to understand it was given to them to reflect their Creator and ultimately lead others to know Him more.
