DCS First Grader Dances in Dayton Ballet’s Nutcracker

We are all familiar with the Christmas tradition of watching a production of The Nutcracker– but one DC first grader will be actually taking part!  Makenzie Berling, age 6, will play the role of a small rat in the first act of the Dayton Ballet’s production of the Tchaikovsky’s beloved story this weekend at the Schuster Center.

“I am very excited,” said Makenzie.  “The rats get to scratch the tree, and scratch the clock and the door.  They run to the cannon and try to get it, and then lots of confetti comes out of it.”

Friday will be Makenzie’s first show and she can’t wait.

Congratulations, Makenzie on your role in the Dayton Ballet’s production of the Nutcracker!  DC is proud of you!
