Former Superintendent and Author Donates Book Proceeds to DCS

Dr. David Rough, former Dayton Christian School Superintendent, has announced that all proceeds from his books during the 70-Day Dash Campaign will be given to DC.

Rough, who also raised money for the school through his Hike It Forward campaign when he hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2014, wants to be able to support the school he believes in so strongly.

“I spent the vast majority of my career at Dayton Christian,” said Rough. “My kids graduated from DC and my grandchildren are here now. I truly believe in the mission of the school. I think it is one of the solutions for the issues that are facing our country today.”

Rough has authored two books that are currently available on Amazon. His first, Hike It Forward: Hiking the Appalachian Trail Safe, Strong, and in the Spirit, is an account of Rough’s own hike of the trail. The Adventures of Princess Polly and William the Brave: Above The Trees is the first in a series and is Rough’s  first foray into young adult literature.  You may recognize the artwork of former DCS art teacher Katy Daniels within its pages. The second book, The Red Rocks, will be available this week. Another book, We Are All Warriors, looks at warfare in the Bible and how it translates to the battles we fight today.  It is scheduled for release in late October.

Thank you, Dr. Rough, for supporting the Warrior Center!
