It is annual tradition in most elementary schools that classes exchange valentines and enjoy a friendship party on February 14, but the fourth grade classes at Dayton Christian School have turned the holiday into an opportunity to serve. In lieu of a party, they spent time yesterday packing lunches for St. Vincent de Paul’s.
“We do still exchange valentines with each other,” said fourth grade teacher Natalie Lewis, “but the students give up their time to have a party. Instead, we’re sharing God’s love with others.”
The students packed 150 lunches for the shelter. Way to serve, Warriors!
