Fourth Graders Give Up Party To Serve Others

It is annual tradition in most elementary schools that classes exchange valentines and enjoy a friendship party on February 14, but the fourth grade classes at Dayton Christian School have turned the holiday into an opportunity to serve. In lieu of a party, they spent time yesterday packing lunches for St. Vincent de Paul’s.

IMG_6644“We do still exchange valentines with each other,” said fourth grade teacher Natalie Lewis, “but the students give up their time to have a party. Instead, we’re sharing God’s love with others.”

The students packed 150 lunches for the shelter. Way to serve, Warriors!
