King's Court Nominees' Testimonies
The following are some excerpts from some of the testimonies given by students who were nominated for this year's XCHS King's Court. Nominees are not chosen based upon popularity or accomplishments but on their Christ-like character qualities and the example they set:
"A couple things that God has taught me lately are trust and patience. There is so much that is unknown about my future, but I have learned that God has a plan and that the best thing to do is take it one day at a time, waiting patiently and trusting Him. 'No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived all that God has in store for those who love Him.' I Cor. 2:9"
"Recently I struggled with questioning God. Some days just walking by the TV set and glancing at the news caused me to become emotionally sick. I found myself asking God why He was allowing such anguish. My relationship with Him progressively began weakening. I searched the Bible to find an answer to my questions and I Thessalonians spoke to me. I realized that God has a purpose for everything that occurs. Through these verses, God taught me that on some occasions I will not be able to comprehend why some things are happening but I need to pray and give thanks to God for what He is eventually going to bring about."
"One thing that God has been teaching me recently is how everything that happens to me, good or bad, is ordained by Him. In James 1:2-3, God tells us that all trials come from God so that we can build perseverance. I have also been learning that everything I do must be for the glory of God. I Cor. 10:31 tells us that whether we eat or drink or whatever we do, do it all for the glory of God. It is my desire everyday to live for Christ and not for my own selfish desires."
