Need-Based Tuition Assistance
Dayton Christian School System (DCSS) budgets a certain amount of tuition assistance dollars to aid families who demonstrate need. An outside firm, FACTS Management Company, processes applications for our applying families, to assess their level of need. For a $25 fee, applications can be made online between February 1 and March 30, 2012 at: www.factstuitionaid.com. New families applying after this date may request tuition assistance and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
FACTS Management provides DCSS with a confidential report for each applying family which indicates what level of financial need exists. The DCSS Admissions Office uses the report as a guide for granting aid to a family.
When should I apply?
DCSS grants annual tuition assistance on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications should be submitted to FACTS Management between February 1 and March 30, 2012. Applications received after that date will be considered as long as funds are available. Families must apply each year to continue receiving an award.
How can I know if I will qualify?
FACTS Management calculates a number of factors in determining family need including income, expenses, family size, and number of children applying to DCSS. Families desiring further clarification concerning qualifying for tuition assistance are encouraged to call the Admissions Office at 937-291-7215.
What records will I need to apply?
- U.S. income tax return (IRS form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ and any supporting IRS schedules
- Records of untaxed income (i.e. child support payments, Worker’s Compensation, clergy housing allowance, welfare benefits)
- Records of medical and dental bills not covered by insurance
- Business records (if self-employed)
- Records of assets (stocks, bonds, and other investments)
- Church or charitable contribution records
- Debt information (remaining balance, interest rate, monthly payment)
Is there anything else?
Yes. A “Church Evaluation for Tuition Assistance” form is required for each family applying for tuition assistance. Please fill out the top portion and sign as parent/guardian. Your signature authorizes your pastor or church official to release information to DCSS. Give the form to your pastor or church official. The form must be returned to the DCSS Business Office by your pastor or church official. Your tuition assistance will not be awarded until we receive your Church Evaluation form.
