Special Programs and Activities

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

AmyHenkel-6423TUTORING: Students who struggle with regular academic subjects are offered this small group service for a nominal fee. In order to qualify for this program a student must be tested and given a written Individual Education Program.

PRE-KINDERGARTEN: The program is an active age appropriate program for students 3 to 5 years of age.  This state licensed program provides a learning environment which nurtures the developement of social, emotional, physical, spiritual and academic skills needed to prepare the student for enterance into Kindergarten.

COMPUTERS: Each classroom has computers for enrichment, strengthening skills and/or remediation.

ART: Each student receives a minimum of 40 minutes of visual art weekly.

MUSIC: Each student receives a minimum of 60 minutes of general music.  Students have opprotunities to participate in an expanded choir during 4th grade.

AmyHenkel-9184PHYSICAL EDUCATION: Each student receives a minimum of 40 minutes of physical education.

LIBRARY: Students starting at preschool are introduced to the library environment and instructed on an age appropriate level by the Elementary Librarian.  The Media Center houses 26,0000 volumes and 26 computers available for student use.

SPECIAL ACTIVITIES

Weekly activities include chapel.  During the course of the year all students will be involved in field trips, outreach opportunities, missions, and musical programs. Through in-school competition some of our students can be involved in spelling bees, speech meets, and Math Olympics, Many of these opportunities involve students from others schools that are a part of The Association of Christian Schools, International.
